The science of sleep! I absolutely loved that movie, never hear it mentioned, need to rewatch it! Those dream sequences! That movie nailed the feel of dreams in a way I've never seen before or since, which alone makes it a favourite for me.

"How simple it was to let another kid in crisis sleep a while on the couch, the floor." - That's one thing that strikes me. How many stupid rules and conventions and accumulated neuroses get in the way of simple kindness and compassion these days. By these days, I mean people my age, who used to be more willing to put up with a minor disruption for a good cause, but now can't even conceive of such a thing.
"I worry about owning a gun. I worry about not owning a gun." - made me think of Bowie: "I'm afraid of americans. I'm afraid of the world. I'm afraid I can't help it. I'm afraid I can."
"I’ll write more about this leading up to inauguration, but I really think we need to be messier to win important fights in the coming years." - totally agree on that. Easier for me to say, up here, of course, but things tend to spill over the border.
